HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2012-053 N.C.S. 05/07/2012 Resolution No. 2012-053 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California ACCEPTING FEDERAL STATE OF GOOD REPAIR GRANT, AND AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, in June 2010, the City of Petaluma submitted a successful application to MTC and the FTA for FTA Section 5309 State of Good Repair funding in the amount of $600,000, to rehabilitate the Petaluma Transit Maintenance Facility; and, WHEREAS, on October 3, 2011, Petaluma City Council accepted a grant of$600,000 resulting from the City's first application for FTA State of Good Repair funds and authorized the City Manager to execute; and, WHEREAS, in July 2011, the City of Petaluma submitted a second application to MTC and the FTA for FTA Section 5309 State of Good Repair funding in the amount of$800,000, to further rehabilitate the Petaluma Transit Maintenance Facility; and, WHEREAS, the application has been successful and FTA has awarded the City of Petaluma with $800,000 in FTA Section 5309 State of Good Repair funding for the Petaluma Transit Facility Renovation Project—Phase One and Two; and, WHEREAS, the funding for the local match for both phases of the project is available from Petaluma Transit's existing Transportation Development Act (TDA) transit operating and capital funds; and WHEREAS, the City has an acute need to renovate its existing transit operations and maintenance facility, to enable indoor maintenance of the modern Petaluma Transit fleet. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma: 1. Approves acceptance of FTA Section 5309 State of Good Repair (SGR) funding in the amount of$800,000; and, Resolution No. 2012-053 N.C.S. Page I 2. Approves a total local grant match of$200,000 from TDA Transit operating funds; and, 3. Authorizes the City Manager to execute grant related documents for said grants.
