SUBJECT: Agenda Item No. 18 —Adobe Lumber Site
•
In anticipation of tonight's City Council discussion of agenda item #18, both Bonne and I made
inquiries with various staff members at the Sonoma County Housing,Authority and the Permit
and Resource Management Department. Janie Walsh, the executive director of the Sonoma
County Housing Authority, did not have any information on the potential of Adobe Lumber as an
affordable housing site and was not aware of any pending application to develop the site for
affordable housing. Greg Carr, the head of comprehensive planning for the County, stated that
the Adobe Lumber site was not on any County inventory of potential affordable housing sites.
He said that the County has developed two inventories: one•in response to the lawsuit over the
inadequacy of their current Housing, .Element; and one currently being developed for their
required Housing Element update for 1999-2006. He was also not aware of any pending
development application.
Both Bonne and I •are available to follow-up with any additional information the Council may
require.
