Resolution No. 2025-058 N.C.S.
of the City of Petaluma, California
RESOLUTION APPROVING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POTENTIAL DISCUSSION TOPICS
FOR THE SONOMA COUNTY MAYORS AND COUNCILMEMBERS ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma is a member of the Sonoma County Mayors and Councilmembers
Association (SCMCA); and
WHEREAS, the SCMCA Board of Directors is planning to hold a special meeting on May 22, 2025 to discuss
and compile priorities involving regional collaboration and convey the selected priorities to the Sonoma County
Board of Directors to ensure alignment and effective resource allocation; and
WHEREAS, topic areas suggested by SCMCA members include homelessness/housing, emergency
preparation, and other agency coordination/support; and
WHEREAS, adoption of this Resolution is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), which established the general rule for projects
concerning which it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a
significant effect on the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Petaluma as follows:
1. Declares the above recitals to be true and correct and are incorporated into this resolution as findings of the
City Council.
2. Finds that the adoption of this Resolution is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), which established the general rule for projects
concerning which it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may
have a significant effect on the environment.
3. Selects the priorities of 1) SAFE/Mobile Crisis funding and support, 2) homelessness, 3) housing, 4)
emergency preparedness, and 5) protections for agriculture and directs Petaluma SCMCA participants to
support their inclusion in the request for alignment and resource allocation to the Board of Supervisors.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the
Council of the City of Petaluma at a Regular meeting on the 19th day of May 2025,
by the following vote:
