SUBJECT: Status Report—Corps ofEngineers Payran Reach Project
Staff Report for April 16th Afternoon Council Meeting
Item 1
IDA walkthrough of backyard grading was conducted with the City represented by Geoff Hornsby,
our right-of-way agent, to insure compliance with the conditions of easement acquisition as well
as grading for the residential properties backing up to the Petaluma River. The construction
work by the Corps of Engineers' contractor; Frontier, was found satisfactory to all parties.
Item 2
We are working with the Finance.Department on closeout of the FEMA Flood Hazard Mitigation
Grant whereby approximately $2,000,000 of funding towards the project came to us through a
grant request.
Item 3
The Corps' contractor estimates by Friday, April 6th, they will,have completed off-haul of spoils
from the construction site.
Item 4
A walkthrough was conducted on Tuesday, April 3`d, with representatives of the Corps, Frontier •
Contracting, Clover-Stornetta, and the City to discuss restoration of the construction site leased
from Clover-Stornetta. The Corps and their contractor anticipate moving the construction
trailers off the site sometime during the month of May 2001.
