Resolution No. 2026-003 N.C.S.
of the City of Petaluma, California
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA
SETTING THE CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING START TIME AT 6:00 P.M.
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma Charter, Article VII, Section 36, allows the council to provide for the time
and place of holding its meetings; provided, however, they hold at least one regular meeting in each calendar
month; and
WHEREAS, at its December 1, 2025 meeting, the City Council reviewed and adopted the 2026 calendar year
meeting schedule, and a start time of 6:30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, at its January 5, 2026 meeting, the City Council considered the earlier start time of 6:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Petaluma as follows:
1. That all regular meetings of the City Council shall start at 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise altered by majority vote
at time of approval of the tentative agenda.
2. Finds that the proposed action is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(2), in that adopting the regular meeting
schedule does not meet CEQA’s definition of a “project,” because the action does not have the potential for
resulting in either a direct physical change in the environment or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical
change in the environment, and because this action that constitutes organizational or administrative activities
of governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the
Council of the City of Petaluma at a Regular meeting on the 5th day of January
2026, by the following vote:
