RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution appointing individuals to City Boards, Commissions, and Committees. BACKGROUND, At the June 4, 2Q12 Regular City Council°Meeting, appointments were made to anumber of City Boards,;Commissions, and Committees to fill terms expiring June 30,;2012. Sufficient applications were not received to fill all the upcoming vacancies, and Council directed the City Clerk to continue-to seek applicationsand return at the July 2, 2012 Regular City Council Meeting so that further appointmentsscould be made. Additionally, the Youth Commission has submitted a.list of recommended student appointees, and the Petaluma Arts Center has recommended a replacement for their representative on the Public Art Committee. DISCUSSION • At Council's direction, no additional paid advertising was placed in the Argus-Courier. The attached,"Get Involved" flyer was distributed at City Hall, the Petaluma'Community Center, and the Petaluma Library. Petaluma Community Access (PCA) ran an announcement of the openings as well. Email letters were sent to current members with terms expiring 30 who had not reapplied, encouraging them to'do so.
