Summary Statement: Water Resources & Conservation Department staff identified two dump trucks
(Units 503 and 544) to be surplus. See attachment 1. Other vehicles have replaced the two vehicles.
Other City Departments cannot use the trucks due to their mechanical and body condition. The trucks
ch have a value of$500.00 or more If the trucks are declared surplus, the City Manager will dispose of
trucks in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3.12 of the Petaluma Municipal Code.

FOR
RESOLUTION'DECLARING TWO TRUCKS SURPLUS TO THE CITY'S NEEDS AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF THE TRUCKS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVISIONS OF THE
PETALUMA MUNICIPAL CODE.
1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Water Resources &Conservation(WR&C) Department staff identified two
dump trucks,(Units 503 and 544) surplus. Other vehicles have replaced the two trucks. Other City
departments cannot use the equipment due to the mechanical and body condition of the vehicles. Each
of trucks has a value of$500:00 or more If the trucks are declared surplus, the City Manager will
dispose of the trucks in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3.12 of the Petaluma Municipal Code.
2: BACKGROUND: WR&C staff identified two dump trucks to be surplus. New vehicles have replaced the
two dump trucks. The;Equipment Maintenance Lead Worker inspected the trucks and foundthem to be
unsuitable for future>use due to the mechanical and body condition of the trucks: See attachment 1,
paragraphs 5 and 6. WR&C is requesting the two,dump trucks be declared surplus to the City and be
disposed of at the direction of the City Manager in accordance with the Petaluma Municipal Code
3. ALTERNATIVES: •
Council could:reject staff's recommendation and give staff direction.
The trucks will remain and continue to be unsafe, unused and not be used by the City.
4. FINANCIAL'IMPACTS:
Sale;of trucks will create an unknown amount of revenue for the City.
5. CONCLUSION:
If the City Council approves the resolution, the City Manager will dispose of the trucks in accordance
with the Petaluma Municipal`Code.
6. OUTCOMES OR PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS THAT WILL IDENTIFY SUCCESS OR COMPLETION:

The trucks will be properly disposed of in accordance with provisions of the Petaluma Municipal Code.
7. RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend City Council approve the resolution to declare the trucks (Units 503 & 544) surplus an.
direct the City Manager to dispose of the trucks in accordance with provisions of the Petaluma
Municipal Code.

15 BE IT FURTHER RESOVLED, that the City Manager is hereby directed to
16 dispose of the trucks as he deems appropriate in the matter and in
17 accordance with provisions of Chapter 3.12 of the Petaluma Municipal
