AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF
REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT
1500 PETALUMA BOULEVARD SOUTH
PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Petaluma as follows:
Section 1. The real property located at 1500 Petaluma Boulevard South, Petaluma
California, is hereby authorized to be purchased under the terms and conditions set forth in
the agreement entitled "Purchase Agreement", attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. The City Clerk be, and she is hereby directed to publish this ordinance for
the period and in the manner as required by the City Charter.

PURCHASE AGREEMENT SSA
PURCHASE
THIS AGR,EEMENT is made and' .entered into pursuant to Chapter 1021., Statutes of
19.86,, on the day a of er1989 by and between the STATE OF
�CALLFORNIA, ac 'rng y and through'. e ep'artment of General Services, herein-
afte-r, referred to is "State, and the CITY OF PETALUMA, hereinafter referred to
as' - "C i;ty .
The City and. State, agree as follows:
1. The City agrees to purchase from the State, and the State agrees to convey
to the City,, that real property at 1500 Petaluma :Boulevard, City of
Petaluma, County of Sonoma-, State of California.
2. The purchase price of`th'e real property shallbe.Two Hundred Forty Thousand
Dollars ($240,000) cash.
3. The State will. convey the property to the City, by Quitcl-ai,m Deed, upon
payment by the City to the-State'of $240,000 through escrow opened by the
City'wrth a title; company Selected by the City, o.r paid directly to the
State if the.ity does not wa-nt an escrow. If said escrow has not closed,
or the State has.not received .direct.,payment from the City, by September 31,
1-989, or in the .event Condit on of t,itl,e is not acceptable to the City,
this Agreement ,shall terminate without liabi'lity to either party.
4. All escrow fees and any title insurance premiums, if title insurance is
desired by the City,, 'shall be paid by the City:.
5. The State wall reserve all mineral deposits, as defined in Section 6407 of
the Public Resources Code, below a d'ept,h.of 500-feet without surface right
of entry.
6. The Quitclaim Deed, to the City will be subject to,the express condition
.subsequent that the property Conveyed herein shall revert to the State of
California.f the use is for 'other than governmental purposes.
7. No alteration or variation in the te'rms.of this Agreement s'hall be valid
unless: made in wri°tin.g and si,gned by the parties hereto, and no oral under-
standi�ng or agreement not hereby exp`res'sly incorporated shall be binding
upon the parties.
