Introduced by Councilman Seconded by Councilman Larry Tencer Vice Mayor Woolsey AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN ARTERIAL STREETS IN THE CITY OF PETALUMA BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Petaluma as follows: Section 1. That pursuant to California Vehicle Code 22357, 22358, and 22358.2 the radar enforceable speed zones on the following Petaluma City Streets are hereby approved: 1. Baywood Drive from Lakeville Hwy. to Crinella Dr.: portions 35 m.p.h. (35), 30 m.p.h. (30), and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 2. Casa Grande Road from Lakeville to Ely Blvd. South: portions 35 m.p.h. (35), 35 m.p.h. (35), and 35 m.p.h. (35) as shown. 3. Crinella Drive from Weaverly to Casa Grande: portions 25 m.p.h. (25), and 25 m.p.h. (25) as shown. 4. East "D" Street from Payran to Petaluma Blvd. South: portions 30 m.p.h. (30), and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 5. "I" Street from Petaluma Blvd. South to City limits: portions 30 m.p.h. (30), 30 m.p.h. (30), 35 m.p.h. (35), and 35 m.p.h. (35) as shown. 6. Industrial Avenue from Petaluma Blvd. North to Corona: portions 40 m.p.h. (40) and 35 m.p.h. (no previous zone) as shown. 7. Magnolia Avenue from Gossage to Petaluma Blvd. North: portions 35 m.p.h. (35), and 30 m.p.h. (35/30) from Liberty to Petaluma Blvd, as shown. Ord. 1715 NCS 1 of 3 8. Maria Drive from Sunrise to East Washington: portions 30 m.p.h. (no previous zone), 30 m.p.h. (no previous zone), 25 m.p.h. (no previous zone), and 25 m.p.h. (no previous zone) as shown. 9. Maria Drive from East Washington to South McDowell: portions 25 m.p.h. (25) and 25 m.p.h. (25) as shown. 10. Mountain View Avenue -from Petaluma Blvd. to McNear: portions 30 m.p.h. (30) and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 11. Petaluma Blvd. North from U.S. 101 to Bailey Avenue: 35 m.p.h. (35). 12. Old Redwood Highway from North McDowell to U.S. 101: 35 m.p.h. (35). 13. Rainier Avenue from North McDowell to Ely: portions 30 m.p.h. (no previous zone) and 30 m.p.h. (no previous zone) as shown. 14. Sutter Street from East Washington to South Ely: portions 30 m.p.h. (30) and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 15. Weaverly Drive -from South McDowell to South Ely: portions 30 m.p.h. (30) and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 16. West Payran from North Petaluma Blvd. to East Washington: portions 30 m.p.h. (30), 30 m.p.h. (30), and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 17. 5th Street from "D" Street to Mountain View: portions 30 m.p.h. (30) and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 18. 6th Street from "D" Street to Mountain View: portions 30 m.p.h. (30) and 30 m.p.h. (30) as shown. 19. Ely Blvd. from Cygnus Way to East Washington: portions 45 m.p.h. (45), 45 m.p.h. (45). 35 m.p.h. (35), and 35 m.p.h. (35) as shown. Ord, 1715 NCS 2.of 3 Section 2. Previously established radar enforceable speed zones, for which the traffic and engineering survey is still valid are hereby expressly approved as speed limits for the streets to which they apply. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post/publish this ordinance for the period and in the manner - required by the City Charter. Introduced, ordered posted/published on the 16th day of February, 1988.
