AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO, 1072 N.C.S., AS
AMENDED, BY RECLASSIFYING AND PREZONING A 100 ACRE PORTION
OF A.P. NO, 136-070-22, CITY OF PETALUMA ATHLETIC FIELDS
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Petaluma as follows:
Section 1. The City Council finds that the Planning Commission filed
with the City Council on January 19, 1988, its report as set forth in
its minutes of January 12, 1988, recommending the adoption of
an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S., as amended, by
reclassifying and rezoning certain land being more particularly
described as a 100 acre portion of Assessor's Parcel Number 136-070-22
known as City of Petaluma Athletic Fields, to "A" Agricultural.
Section 2. The City Council further finds that said Planning
Commission held a public hearing on said proposed amendment to
Zoning Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S., as amended, on January 12, 1988
after giving notice of said hearing in the manner, for the period and
in the form required by said Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S. , as amended.
Section 3, Pursuant to the provisions of Zoning Ordinance No. 1072
N , C . S . , as amended, the City Council finds the proposed prezoning to
be in general conformity with the Petaluma General Plan and further
finds the following
1. The prezoning is in the best interest of the City of Petaluma.
2. An expansion of the existing Sphere of Influence and water
service boundary line is presently being processed by the City of
Petaluma.

3. That the proposed prezoning is in general conformity with the
Petaluma General Plan.
4. That the public necessity, convenience and general welfare
require or clearly permit the adoption of the proposed prezoning.
Section 4. Pursuant to the provisions of Zoning Ordinance No. 1072
N.C.S. , as amended, and based upon the evidence it has received and
in accordan ce with the findings made, the City Council hereby adopts
amendment to said Zoning Ordinance N o. 1072 N.C.5. so as to
reclassify and rezone said property h ereinbefo re referred to in
accordance with the recommendation of the Planning Commission..
Section 5. The City Council finds that the requirements of California
Environmental Quality Act Guidelines, Section 15083 have been satisfied
and hereby incorporates by reference the Negative Declaration
prepared and approved for the proposed prezoning.
Section 6. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post this Ordinance
for the period and in the manner required by the City Charter.
