HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1697 N.C.S. 11/02/1987~~ nE C 2 17 ORDINANCE NO. 1697 NCS Introduced by Michael Davis Seconded by Vice Mayor Woolsey AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PETALUMA MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDING §15.09.030 (c) AND §15.09.040 (c) RELATING TO WELLS/DOMESTIC WATER BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Petaluma as follows: Section 1. Section 15.090.030 (c) of the Petaluma Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows "15.09.030 (c) -Definitions (c) Auxiliary Water Suppl y: Any water supply on or available to the premises other than the purveyor's approved public potable water supply. These .auxiliary waters may include water from another purveyor's public potable water supply or any natural source (s) such as a well, spring, river, stream, harbor, etc. , or "used waters" or "industrial fluids" . These waters may be polluted or contaminated or they may be objectionable and constitute an unacceptable water source over which the water purveyor does not have sanitary control. Any well will be considered as an auxiliary supply unless abandoned to City standards . " Ord. 1697 NCS 1 .Amend cross connection ' „ ; .Disk-ORD2 (CA) Section 2. Section 15.09.040 (c) of the Petaluma Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows "15.09.040 (c) -Requirements for Backflow Prevention Devices (c) Specific Use and Type Requirements: For the following specific uses, and other uses as designated by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, the customer shall be required to install a backflow prevention device of the type indicated as a minimum. Use Animal Kennels Auxiliary Water Systems Beverage Bottling Plant Buildings with Booster Pump Systems and/or Water Storage Tanks Car Washes Film Processors Fire Protection System (Class I) Fire Protection System (Class II, III, IV) Fire Protection Systems (Class V, VI) Hospitals /Laboratories / Clinics Industrial and/or Commercial (All) Irrigation Systems (All) Type Device Double Check Valve Double Check Valve Double Check Valve Air Gap Double Check Valve Reduced Pressure Single Check Valve Double Check Valve Reduced Pressure Reduced Pressure Reduced Pressure Double Check Valve Ord. 1697 NCS 2 Amend cross connection • . ' ~ .Disk-ORD2 (CA) Marinas/Boat Docks Reduced Pressure Mortuaries, Medical, Dental Building Reduced Pressure Multi-Story Buildings (3 or more stories) Double Check Valve Plating Facilities Reduced Pressure Sand and Gravel Plants Double Check Valve Schools Reduced Pressure Sewage and Storm Drain Pumping Facilities Air Gap Swimming Pools Reduced Pressure Tank Trucks or Chemical Spray Rigs Air Gap Section 3. Severability Clause If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council declares it would have passed this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more of such provisions be declared unconstitutional. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to 15bb~/publish this ordinance for the period and in the manner specified by law.
