HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2005-084 N.C.S. 06/06/2005 resolution No. 2005-084 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California NAMING THE NEW PARK UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT THE MCNEAR PENINSULA "STEAMER LANDING PARK" WHEREAS, the City ofPetaluma is constructing Phase I of a new park at the McNear Peninsula; and, WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has received two suggestions to name the park either after an individual from the community, or name the park from a historical perspective based on the historical development and use of the site; and, WHEREAS, the Recreation, Music, and Parks Commission has deliberated on the recommendations made in reference to the City's Park Naming Policy, and recommends that the new park be named "Steamer Landing Park." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma, that the new park being developed at the McNear Peninsula shall be called "Steamer Landing Park." Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
