AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11.08 OF THE
PETALUMA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION
11..44..031 (90 MINUTE PARKING) . DECLARING
SAID AMENDMENT AN EMERGENCY TO
TO TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA as
follows
Section 1. Section 11.44.01 is .hereby added to the Petaluma Municipal
Code to read as follows
Section 11.44.01.
When authorized signs, parking meters or curb markings have been
determined by the city traffic engineer at the direction of the City Council,
to be necessary and are in place giving notice thereof, no operator of any
vehicle shall stop, stand or park such vehicle between the hours of eight
a.m. and six p.m. of any day except Sundays and holidays, for a period of
time longer than ninety minutes . "
Section 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase or
word of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of the City of
Petaluma hereby declares that it would have passed and adopted this
ordinance and each and all provisions thereof irrespective of the fact that
any one or more of said provisions be declared unconstitutional.
Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take
effect and be in force upon its passage by a unanimous vote of the members

of the City Council present at the time of its adoption. The reason for the
emergency is that the police department requires authority to enforce
parking regulations.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
post/publish this ordinance for the period and in the manner required by
the City Charter.
