AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1072 N.C.S. , AS
AMENDED, BY RECLASSIFYING AND REZONING PORTIONS OF
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS 007-422-35 and 32 AND A
PORTION OF ABANDONED SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Petaluma as follows:
Section 1. The City Council finds that the Planning Commission filed
with the City Council on July 1, 1985, its report as set forth in its
minutes of May 28 and June 11, 1985 (Item No. 3.340), recommending
the adoption of an amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S. ,
as amended, by reclassifying and rezoning certain lands being more
particularly described as Assessor's Parcel Numbers 007-422-32, and 35
and a portion of the abutting railroad right-of-way (see Exhibit "A")
from M-L/FP-C (Light Industrial/Flood Plain Combining) to C-H/FP-C
(Highway Commercial/Flood Plain Combining) .
Section 2. The City Council further finds that said Planning
Commission held a public hearing on said proposed amendment to
Zoning Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S. , as amended, on May 28 and June
11, 1985 after giving notice of said hearing in the manner, for the
period and in the form required by said Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S. ,
as amended.
Section 3. The City Council finds that on June 11, 1985, after proper
notice and hearing, the Planning Commission denied a request to
rezone any portion of the project site zoned Floodway. ~
Section 4. Pursuant to the provisions of Zoning Ordinance No. 1072
N . C. S . , as amended, the City Council finds the proposed amendment
in general conformity with the Petaluma General Plan and its

Environmental Design Plan Element, and further, that the public
interest, convenience and general welfare will be furthered by the
proposed amendment.
Section 5. Pursuant to the provisions of Zoning Ordinance No. 1072
N.C.S. , as amended, and based upon the evidence it has received and
in accordance with the findings made, the City Council hereby adopts
amendment to said Zoning Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S. so as to
reclassify and rezone said property hereinbefore referred to in
accordance with the recommendation of the Planning Commission.
Section b. The City Council finds that the requirements of California
Environmental Quality Act Guidelines, Section 15083 have been satisfied
by the preparation of a negative declaration for this rezone.
Section 7. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post this ordinance
for the period and in the manner required by the City Charter.
