CO:IUIMENT 40 41 Mayor'Thbmpson announced that' the Petaluma River Clean=Up would.. take place on 42 June 10. 43 4.4. Council Member Maguire spoke. regarding a draft transportation ~merno he would 45 distribute to the:-Council. and encouraged there to-read it as it' was very informative. 46 Regarding: PCA, the implications to Council based. on a memo received from Assistant. May 15, 2000 .Vol. 34, Page 479 1 City Manager Gene Beatty that.he referred to about the last-;PCA meeting noted that the 2 group was in need of community support in order to continue operating.. 3 4 Council Member Cader-Thompson. spoke regarding the Petaluma River Clean-Up. 5 Regarding PCA, $2.00 a month was a small amount to pay in order for the community 6 to support its operation. She, added. that the school and the ,public benefited as they had 7 the opportunity to learn, how the equipment worked. She announced that Council was 8 leaving to go to Washington, D.C. to continue petitioning legislative representatives and 9 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the shortfall of funds from the Petaluma Flood 10 Project. 11 12 Vice Mayor Torliatt .noted that all Council Members attended the Chamber of Commerce 13 installation and named a few Council Members who attended the Mayors' and 14 Councilmembers' meeting. She announced that May 16 was National Bike to Work Day 15 and encouraged. everyone to ride his or her bikes to work. She also mentioned: there 16 was a natural gas, bus available for the: Council to view and noted that the City would 17 purchase natural gas busses in the near future. 18 19 Council Member Keller .requested afollow-up on ,last. Tuesday's meeting with the 20 Railroad. 21 22 Program Coordinator James .Ryan had a conversation with. David Solomon lasf 23 Wednesday, who indicated that he was mailing the. Cloverdale document; the Planning 24 Department of the Raif. Agency was to fax their recommendations. He noted this item 25 would come back to Council on June 5. ,- , 26 Vice Mayor Tor.liatt wanted to make-sure that it; moved forward. and suggested having a 27 special meeting next Mondayfor the Council to discuss transitoptions: 28 29 .Mayor Thompson asked what needed to ~be decided. - 30 .. - _ 31 Mr. Ryan replied that Council needed to decide if they agreed with the"two phases as 32 recommended and then they could proceed with.. working on developments if.agreeable 33 with the other parties involved. ~ .
