Home My WebLink AboutResolution 2012-139 N.C.S. 09/24/2012Resolution No. 2012-139 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California DECLARING VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE SURPLUS TO THE CITY'S NEEDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF THE SURPLUS VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PETALUMA MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, various departments have identified vehicles and equipment to no longer be of use to the City; and, WHEREAS, the identified vehicles and equipment are declared surplus to the City's needs and no longer required by the City. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager is hereby directed to dispose of the vehicles and equipment identified in Exhibit A, attached hereto, as he deems appropriate in the manner and in accordance with provisions of Chapter 3.12 of the Petaluma Municipal Code. It is recommended that the equipment that can't be salvaged fors are parts be declared surplus and sold as scra to recoup that value and free up space at the site. The Hopper Street Wastewater Treatment Pant (WTP) was shut down in 2009 when the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility (WRF) was brought online. Some equipment at the WTP has been repurposed to other points in the system or moved to WRF as spares. The remaining pumps, motors and ancillary equipment are either unserviceable or are no longer necessary for operations. These pieces of equipment and structural components have salvage value and should be sold to recoup that value and free up space at the site.
