Present: Parkerson, Read, Hamilton, Barlas, Shea, Vice Mayor Sobel, Mayor Hilligoss Absent: None s PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 9 Terry Kosewic led the Pledge of Allegiance. io PUBLIC COMMENT ii Terry Kosewic, 826 DStreet -complimented staff on placement of flags above a new stop i2 sign on East D Street. 13 Vincenza Scarpaci, 23 Meadowglen Drive -suggested that staff reply to those persons who 14 speak .to the Council. She was pleased to receive a response from City Manager John is Scharer, but usually the .rest of the staff does not respond at all. She asked about the access 16 to Moon Ranch and was ;told that as far as the City has been able to determine, the easement i~ is unrestricted. You are asked so many questions by the public, maybe you could take a few is of them which may be useful to more than one member of the public and use the Council 19 Comment time to share various information with the public. 20 COUNCIL COMMENT 2i Lori Shea -requested information on the status of the Budget Committee. She was advised za by a member of that committee that they have divided into three subcommittees and they i3 also have reduced meetings because of summertime. They are planning to get back together. as In response to discussion of the budget committee looking at an individual department, the is Council had understood that the committee did not want to meet with the Council until a 26 little time had elapsed. 2~ Regarding the comment from Mr. Chechanover at the last meeting regarding a telephone sa cost increase, it was the understanding that Mr. Chechanover wanted the Council to write a 29 letter to the PUC about this. 3o Ross Parkerson asked why the cable television camera is not on. McDevitt was the single applicant for the .single seat. The Council consensus was to reappoint him to a four-year term. CRILD CARE COMMITTEE The following persons had expressed interest in the Child Care Committee: Frances Anderson Joan Marsala Annette McElroy Lori Meaney Tracy Tomasky It was the Council consensus to appoint all five to the Committee. 'There were 8 seats vacant. The Council also asked staff to refer the matter of the Child Care Committee to the Recreation, Music and Parks Commission for a re-evaluation of the committee, the size the committee, the duties of the committee and for a recommendation to the Council. PERSONNEL BOARD There was one opening to replace Robert Curtis whose term will expire :June 30, 1996.
