The speed limit on 8 North McDowell is not being. observed by numbers of motorists. ., 9 Vice Mayor Lynn Woolseyy -October .is almost upon us and it is time to think of 10 opening the Ar_rnory .for the homeless single men. The City of Tel Aviv has some 11 public restroom technology that staff should look into.. EOS will be presenting the 12 City Councihwith information on plans for the wastewater treatment. She asked when 13 and where tlii"s will take place and how people will be notified. 14 Jack Cavanagh - We have an ordinance on the books about hedge and fence height on is corner lots. He asked staff to monitor this more closely, because there are sight 16 distance problems in a number of places in the community. He asked for a report on 17 compliance activity. is Mayor Hilligoss - We had very nice Old Adobe Days. and Petaluma River Festival 19 Celebrations recently. Their goal is to reduce the potential for global warming by planting 36 drought-tolerant trees for building protection from- summer sun exposure; plant street 37 . trees; drive fuel-efficient vehicles;. car-pool, walk or ride a bike when possible; turn off 38 lights and air-conditioners when possible, lower the. thermostat to 68 degrees 39 Fahrenheit; recycle glass, aluminum and paper; and compost. garden and kitchen 4o scraps to reduce trash. 41 They are sponsoring a tree. planting program in .Sonoma County and hope to plant 42 350,000 shade trees. m the County by the year 2000. The process begins when 43 approximately 3U neighbors. request their assistance.. There is an evening educational 44 meeting for the neighbors to choose the trees which would be appropriate for the soil 45 and climate of 'the neighborhood and to learn about other energy conservation. The 46 actual planting will be accomplished with the assistance of trained volunteers. The 47 plants will be monitored by these volunteers for two years.
