processes.
SCHOOL DISTRICT PRESENTATION
Enrollment, Data
Superintendent Cadman :advised that in the early part of the 1980's, the schools
were experiencing declining enrollment at the very time ;those planning processes
were in the stage of referral to other agencies. However, enrollmert has increased
since that time and the ratio. authorized by the .State for calculating anticipated
student population, resulted in underestimates. The State ratio used per residence
is:.4 elementary, 'students, .1 junior high-school student, and .2 high school students.
It takes a minimum of 3 years to plan and build an elementary school and 5 years
for building a secondary school.
Impact Fee
The State of California has established a maximum school impact fee of $1.50 per
square foot.
Potential Additional Classroom Count. Impact
An additional .impact being experienced by schools is a 1990 year deadline to correct
non-Field Act structures (relates to earthquake tolerance).
Committee Studying Funding Alternatives
There is a'blue ribbon' committee to whom the SchogT Board has delegated-the task
to evaluate funding alternatives for additional classrooms.
Public Comments
