Li�it�f40 April 9, 1990 Vol. 25, Page 305 MINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING PETALUMA CITY COUNCIL MONDAY, APRIL 9, 1990 3:00 p.m. - ROLL CALL PRESENT: Tencer, Woolsey, Cavanagh,, Davis, Vice Mayor Sobel, Mayor Hilligoss ABSENT: BA L-s014,a PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE COUNCIL COMMENTS Larry Tencer - Residents of the Petaluma Estates Mobile Home Park have complained that the towing company which utilizes an adjacent lot are waking the mobile home park residents during the night as cars are towed and stowed. Vice Mayor Sobel - There will be a meeting in the City Council Chambers on Tuesday, April 17, for the public to question Supervisor Harberson and Vice Mayor Sobel regarding the U. S. Highway 101 Transportation Corridor and the proposed sales tax measure that is scheduled to be before the Sonoma County voters in November. It was suggested the City place an ad on the front page of the Argus Courier to notify the public of that meeting. COUNTY OPEN SPACE DISTRICT Supervisor Harberson addressed the City Council regarding the proposal to create an open space district in the County. State Legislation proposed by Assemblyman Filante (AB -3630) would authorize creation of such a district. He reported that there have been offers of land dedication for open space. There would be a choice of one of three authorized methods of funding such open space. They are a transactions and use tax, an excise tax, or a transient occupancy tax. If a transient occupancy tax is chosen as the funding vehicle, the City Council agreed that 2% should be the maximum rate. However, there was no City Council agreement on the method of funding an open space district. CLOSED SESSION From 4:00 to 4:25 p.m. the Council sat in Closed Session pursuant to Government Code § 54956.9(b)1. ADJOURN At 4:30 p.m., the meeting was adjourned.
