AIRPORT - DEVELOPMENT FEES
The Council considered the type of fees that could be levied
an prospective businesses that will develop within the
airport area. The matter was referred to the Airport
Commission far fine tuning and a repast back~to~the Council.

There was a misunderstanding on the part of the• bc~~a'ti`ng
community regarding the timing c,f Council discussion on the
proposed maari~~g fee increase that occurred at the last
Ca~_~ncil meeting. At the request of the boaters, it was
moved by JacF: Cavanagh, seconded by Prian Sabel to
reconsider the berthing fee adapted at the January 1?

PUBLIC COMMENT: There was none.
COUNCIL COMMENT:
Brian Sabel suggested the City Council schedule a mes~ting
with the Novato City Council to discuss mutual concerns. It
was the Council's consensus to ask: staff to schedule such a
meeting. .John Balshaw urged the Council to begin a program
to work: with the 12 to 20 age. group. Michael Davis
commented that the Council has discussed their plan to
"accept as binding" the results of the utility tar, measure
to be included by the Council at the November, 1988,
election.

Planning Director Warren Salmons reviewed the proposed sign
prc?gram submitted to the City by the Petaluma Area Chamber
of Commerce. The prc~pasal is to replace the Ci+,y's
directional signs o•~er' a period of time from tfie standard
rectang!_!laa- green/white signs to burgundy and grey signs
with a half-circle. logo at the top., the wrrds CITY OF

Lyndi Frown, Promotions Manager for the Petaluma Area
Chamber of Commerce, and Pill White, representing the
Chamber of Commerce, also spak:e. After considerable
discussion. Vice Mayor Waalsev introduced and_Larr_y Tencer
seconded 'the call for the question'.

require sidewalks on at least one side of the street in

an historically significant building preservation regulatic~r~
far the downtown area. and the matter was referred to the

AMBER WAY ABANDONMENT
It was Council consensus to authorise staff to pi-aceed wi:th
abandonment proceedings for ~n unused partic~n of the right-
c:f-way for Amber Way.
ABANDONMENT
EASEMENTS near She ter Hills Village
It was Ce~ci~~cl consensus to authorise staff to proceed with
abandc~nmen+, proceedings for an unused portion cif the right-
af-way and utility easements and 2~>-fast access easement to
the detention ponds. This property is part of Shelter Hi11s
Village and is located between Garfield Drive and ,the Urban
Open Space area.
PROPOSED WATER CONNECTION

This was rescheduled for the February 16, 1988, Council
meeting.
AIRPORT COMMISSION
The scheduled joint meeting with the Airport Commission
(Thursday. February 4) has been cancelled. A new date will
be set for this meeting.
