The City Council was advised that the Petaluma People Services Center grant
award has been extended to June 10, 1989, to allow additional time to complete
their proposed relocation at a site to be determined. The results of the soils
testing at Ellwood Community Center aze expected to be available in a month.
Mayor Hilligoss referred the question to the Human Services Subcommittee of

ICen Bradley of Aunt Julies Toys and 1^Iobbies requested that the Council authorize
refund of the Parking and Business Improvement Area assessment.

Michael Davis noted that the teens are now active with the Recreation
Commission. hIe suggested the City institute a Government Day so students
may assume the role of City officials and work through a real City Council
agenda.
Brian Sobel agreed with the :suggestion.
Vice A~Iayor Lynn Woolsey noted the Parks and Recreation Commission will t
before the Council next meeting requesting a second teen member.
John Balshaw commented that. the City is getting untidy; the landscaping is nc
being maintained at certain locations. 'Triple S Tue and the old ice house at
Lakeville and D Streets were locations that he cited. ~Ie also suggested there be
a vehicle included in the City approvals allowing the City to contract for a
landscape maintenance business to correct landscape maintenance deficiencies
and collect the costs from the property owner or business.
